Encounter Registration Opens

The Diocese is hosting one giant party this year. November 2-4th to be precise.  It is two retreats in one.  Two tracks in one location.  Two speakers – one band. Tons of workshops, fun, and food.

Cost: $125 if registered by September 17 and $150 after that.  (If you need a scholarship, I must speak with you about it by September 17th.)   Details:  Leaving on Friday the 2nd at 4:00 from the St. Michael’s parking lot and returning back there on Sunday the 5th by 1:00.   As with all off campus activities, we must have a parent’s signature on the Student Event and Release Form before you arrive at St. Michael’s for the event.   Register here.  Email Justin for the password.

Music this year is coming from out of town – way out of town. The Birdsongs are a Christian Alternative Rock/Power Pop band originally from Seattle, WA, now living near Knoxville, Tennessee composed of four brothers, their sister, and their father. As a band, they have maintained a constant touring presence and have become increasingly popular at festivals, youth events, and churches.

In recent years, they have played shows with hit artists such as The Newsboys, Sanctus Real, RED, Rush of Fools, Everyday Sunday, and Fireflight. The Birdsongs released their first two radio singles in 2009 and 2010 and have since gained tremendous radio success with both singles – “Pieces (Hold On)” and “So Much More.” The two singles both charted and have been enjoying steady airplay ever since. Over the last year, The Birdsongs have been reinventing themselves as a band and are currently in the studio finishing up their newest project.
